The first edition…
More than seventy years after Enzo Ferrari gifted a Lowenthal chronograph to Luigi “Gigi” Villoresi, the essence of that extraordinary timepiece returns through the Villoresi Chronograph - a series of 48 handcrafted pieces built around the exceptionally rare Lowenthal Caliber 2518.
Originally conceived during the golden era of postwar motorsport, this five-beat sweep seconds manual-wound chronograph is produced only in limited numbers, with very few surviving examples known today. Each restored caliber has been meticulously reworked by hand to contemporary Haute Horlogerie standards while preserving the essence and architecture of the original movement.
To complement the historic character of the caliber, Lowenthal developed a proprietary artisanal process that recreates the subtle patina and warmth of 1950s dials, ensuring that every watch possesses its own unique aging and identity.
More than a tribute, the Villoresi Chronograph is a continuation of a story that connects horology and Italian racing history - reviving one of the rarest expressions of the Lowenthal legacy.
